Annual General Meeting & more Book Sale

By Margaret | May 11, 2012

The Annual General Meeting of the Women for Music Society will be held on Thursday May 17th at 2pm at The Saraguay Club, preceeded by a luncheon at 12.30.

Book Sale: we are still recovering from the great book sale that we held last month.  In the last post we thanked all those who helped but I forgot to mention all the kind people who donated the books that made the sale possible.  This past year we have been overwhelmed by the generousity of the public and we thank you for the good quality, gently used books that you have donated.  We are already busy sorting and pricing the mound of books that we have for the October sale!

By Margaret | April 23, 2012

This past weekend we held our Spring Book Sale – and it was THE BEST EVER!!!
Thanks to all those who came and spent their money – you got great bargains but without your support we would have been left with a lot of books!
Other people we wish to thank are :
- All the volunteers for your hard work
- The management and staff of the Halifax Forum for being so helpful and accommodating
- The men from Maritime Movers who moved our books so cheerfully and efficiently

See you again in October when we will have a complete new inventory of books on display.

Next Meeting, BOOK SALE and lost Photographs

By Margaret | January 10, 2012

LOST PHOTOGRAPHS – we may have found them!!!
Sometime the end of November or early December we received several boxes of books one of which contained a copy of the 2007 CPS Manual inside of which were 25 or so old photographs.  The photographs appear to be from the 50′s & 60′s and include two wedding groups , some christening  and possibly graduation pictures.  There is also a composite photo of a naval officer with “the Pictou Advocate” written on the back.  Some of the photographs have Gordon A. Larkin, Photographer stamped on the back.
If they are yours please contact Margaret @443-5105
